Get Started
Your future can begin with one small step.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you start. Tell us a little about yourself, explore the learning opportunities available and find out how you can begin developing practical skills.

Start Your Learning Journey
Are you looking for work? Would you like to learn a useful skill, become more independent or explore a new career?
You do not have to know everything before you begin. You can start by discussing your interests, circumstances and learning goals with us.
WARA’s approach is to help people build practical capabilities step by step—from learning and practice to demonstrating skills and progressing towards suitable work opportunities.
Your first step is simply to get in touch.
Who Can Get Started?
You may wish to explore WARA’s learning opportunities if you are:
- Looking for work and wanting to develop practical skills.
- A school leaver or someone who has discontinued formal education.
- A homemaker interested in developing skills for greater independence.
- A young person exploring possible career directions.
- Someone who wants to improve existing skills or learn something new.
- Interested in care work, digital skills, technical services or another practical field.
Your eligibility will depend on the particular programme. Some learning opportunities may have specific age, education, experience or other requirements. We will explain these before you enrol.
You do not need to have your entire career planned. Begin with a conversation about what you would like to learn.
Choose a Direction
Caregiver & Elder Care
Caregiver and elder-care learning is a priority for WARA. If you are interested in supporting older adults and helping people with everyday care needs, this may be a suitable place to start exploring.
Care work requires responsibility, respect, patience and appropriate practical skills. The learning pathway and requirements depend on the role you wish to pursue.
IT & Digital Services
If you are interested in computers, smartphones, digital tools or technical work, explore the digital learning pathway. Digital Foundation provides useful starting skills that can also support learning and work in other fields.
Other Learning Domains
You can also explore education and learning, technical infrastructure, textiles and production, hospitality and local services, and agriculture and essential services.
The availability of individual programmes may vary.
Not sure which direction suits you? That is fine. Contact us and explain what you are looking for.
What Happens After You Contact Us?
Your journey begins with a conversation, not a commitment.
1. Enquiry
Tell us your name, location, interests and how we can contact you.
2. Discussion
We will discuss your interests and explain the relevant learning opportunities, entry requirements and availability.
3. Programme Guidance
If a suitable programme is available, we will explain the next steps, including enrolment, schedule, location and any applicable fees or support.
4. Learning and Practice
If you enrol, you will develop the required skills through learning, guided practice and assessment appropriate to the programme.
5. Your Next Step
As you develop your capabilities, you can explore further learning and, where suitable opportunities exist, pathways towards employment, assignments or service provision.
Progress depends on the programme, your demonstrated capabilities and the relevant requirements. Contacting WARA or completing training does not guarantee employment, work assignments or income.
What Information Should You Provide?
To begin an enquiry, you can share:
- Your name
- Your contact number
- Your town, locality or district
- The field you are interested in, if you already have one in mind
You do not need to prepare a formal application or résumé just to ask a question. If a programme requires additional information, we will explain what is needed.
Please share personal information only through the appropriate contact channel and provide additional documents only when required.

Before You Enrol
We want you to understand the opportunity before making a decision.
Please ask us about:
- Whether the programme is currently available.
- Who can enrol and what prerequisites apply.
- The training schedule, duration and location.
- Any fees, financial assistance or sponsored places available.
- What the programme teaches and how your skills will be assessed.
- Whether a formal qualification is offered and who recognises it.
- What further learning or work opportunities may be available.
Programme terms and opportunities vary. We will clarify the relevant details rather than ask you to make a decision without understanding them.
Questions Before You Begin?
It is natural to have questions about training, eligibility, costs, qualifications and future opportunities.
Visit our Frequently Asked Questions page or contact us directly. If you are unsure which programme to choose, you can begin by explaining your situation and what you hope to achieve.
Take Your First Step Today
You do not have to change everything in one day.
Start by asking a question. Discover what you can learn. Practise a skill. Build your capabilities one step at a time.
Your starting point does not define your future. What you learn and practise next can help shape it.
